Peak2D.amplitude#

Peak2D.amplitude: complex#

Sum of pathway amplitudes producing the peak.

Rephasing pathway amplitudes have their sign flipped.

Notes

The Maxwell wave equation flips the sign of the negative frequency material polarization component, such that the positive and negative components add up to a real cosine wave. At the level of TD perturbation theory the signs are oppposite and summing corresponding rephasing and non-rephasing pathway amplitudes (or a pathway with its complex conjugate) gives zero. This means that if you want to estimate some signal amplitude/intensity based on amplitudes, you might get a zero unless you normalize the signs.
